Winston Medical Center is proud to welcome Dr. Jonathan Hamilton, a board-certified family physician, to its growing team of compassionate and skilled healthcare providers.

Dr. Hamilton, a native of Winston County, returns home to serve the community that helped shape his early years. He brings with him a strong foundation in comprehensive care, developed through years of training and hands-on experience.

“Growing up in this community, I always felt supported,” said Dr. Hamilton. “Now it’s my turn to give back and provide the same care and compassion to others that I once received.”

Dr. Hamilton earned his medical degree from the University of Mississippi Medical Center (UMMC) in Jackson and completed his residency at Gulfport Memorial Hospital. His medical journey began early, inspired by his mother’s lifelong battle with epilepsy and the dedicated physicians who helped her navigate her health challenges.

He credits much of his inspiration to Sam Suttle, a physician he shadowed prior to medical school. “Watching Sam care for my mother and truly listen to her needs showed me the kind of doctor I wanted to become,” Dr. Hamilton shared.

During his medical training, Dr. Hamilton worked under various specialties to become a well-rounded physician, including an impactful rotation with Dr. Gentry, who helped sharpen his knowledge of diabetes and hypertension treatments.

Dr. Hamilton specializes in Family Medicine, with a strong passion for preventative care and a special interest in serving nursing home patients. “Prevention is key to increasing both life expectancy and quality of life,” he emphasized.

At Main Street Clinic, Dr. Hamilton is committed to providing accessible, compassionate care and educating patients about their conditions and lifestyle changes that can significantly improve their outcomes.

“I hope to bring encouragement, guidance, and education to my patients,” he said. “Even small victories in health can make a big difference. My goal is to walk alongside my patients through their healthcare journey.”

When he’s not practicing medicine, Dr. Hamilton enjoys fishing, hunting, reading, playing video games, and spending time with his family. He also helps his parents, Jimmy and Janice Hamilton, on their farm.
