Winston Medical Center Receives LAMMICO Patient Safety Award

CEO Michael Nester, Director of Nursing Robert Turcotte and WMC Turning Point Staff were presented with a distinguished honor on Tuesday.

LOUISVILLE– Winston Medical Center has been recognized for its commitment to patient safety, earning second place in LAMMICO’s Patient Safety Awards.

The recognition includes a $5,000 grant to support nursing professional development at Winston Medical Center.

LAMMICO CEO Dr. J. Michael Conerly, along with members of the LAMMICO team, visited Winston Medical Center to present the award to WMC CEO Michael Nester and members of the WMC Turning Point nursing team.

During the presentation, Nester made sure to recognize the people behind the award — the nurses and staff whose dedication to patient safety helped make the achievement possible.

“I’m honored to stand up here to receive this award, but this award is for you,” Nester told Director of Nursing Bert Turcotte and his WMC Turning Point nursing staff.

The $5,000 grant will provide an opportunity for Winston Medical Center to further invest in the professional development of its nursing team, strengthening the knowledge and skills that help provide safe, quality care to patients.

Winston Medical Center is proud to celebrate this recognition alongside our Turning Point nursing team and grateful to LAMMICO for supporting our commitment to patient safety and continued professional growth.
