Health care workers, first responders, students, and more gain valuable experience in Community Disaster Drill
Winston Medical Center is proud to announce the successful completion of a community disaster drill conducted along the Highway 15/25 Bypass. The exercise brought together emergency responders, healthcare professionals, and community organizations to practice coordination, communication, and emergency response procedures in a simulated disaster situation.
The drill provided an opportunity for participating agencies to evaluate their response efforts, strengthen partnerships, and ensure they are prepared to work together in the event of an emergency. Following today’s drill, a debrief meeting was held to discuss improvements and wins from the day.
“Today’s community disaster drill was a success,” said Ashlee Cravens, Emergency Room Manager at Winston Medical Center. “We are grateful for the cooperation and response of every agency involved. While we hope we never face a real-life situation like the one we simulated today, this exercise demonstrated the importance of preparation, teamwork, and communication. We can take confidence in knowing that our community’s emergency responders and healthcare partners are working together and are better prepared to respond when it matters most.”
Winston Medical Center extends a sincere thank you to all organizations, first responders, healthcare professionals, and community partners who participated in making this exercise a success. Their time, dedication, and commitment to the safety and wellbeing of our community are greatly appreciated.
While we hope a disaster of this nature never occurs, continued preparation and collaboration help ensure our community is ready to respond when it matters most.
